About Ritchie Bros.

Ritchie Bros. began in 1958 in British Columbia, Canada, and grew into one of the largest sellers of used heavy equipment in the world. Its parent company is now RB Global, which also owns IronPlanet and several other marketplaces. In the U.S. it runs permanent auction yards in many states along with online-only events.

Most U.S. sales are unreserved, so each lot sells to the top bidder on sale day whatever the price. Buyers can bid in the yard, live online during the event, or with a proxy bid placed ahead of time. Each event page lists its own inspection days, removal deadline and payment details. Financing is available through the company's own finance arm.
