About Equipment Facts
Equipment Facts is an online bidding service owned by Sandhills Global, the Lincoln, Nebraska, publisher founded in 1978. It streams audio and video from live auctions held by local auction companies, so remote bidders can take part as if they were in the crowd. Since 2018 it has added more equipment types and sale formats.
Each sale is run by its own auctioneer, who sets the buyer premium, online bidding fee, payment terms and pickup rules. Equipment Facts staff register and approve bidders and pass online bids to the auctioneer. Winning bidders get an email with links to pay for each item.

What it costs
Equipment Facts' terms list no platform fee to buyers. Each auctioneer sets an online buyer premium and other fees in its sale terms.
| What | Cost |
|---|---|
| Registration | Free |
| Online buyer premium | Set by each auctioneer and shown in the sale's terms |
| Example online premium (2025 sale) | 7% of the bid, capped at $1,000 per item |
| Example payment fees (2025 sale) | $15 per wire, or 5% on credit cards |
| Example buyer commission (2026 sale) | 10% on the first $4,500, with further tiers in that sale's terms |
| Sales tax | Added by the auctioneer where it applies |
A worked example using the 2025 sale terms above: a $20,000 tractor hits the $1,000 cap, so it costs $21,000, plus $15 for the wire, before tax and hauling.
