About Mecum Auctions

Mecum Auctions was founded in 1988 by Dana Mecum and is based in Walworth, Wisconsin. It is a family-run company. It sells thousands of vehicles each year and runs more than a dozen events across the country.

Sales are live auctions held over several days, with cars crossing a stage one at a time. Its largest sale is in Kissimmee, Florida, each January, with other regular stops such as Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Monterey and Harrisburg. Bidders can take part on site, online or by phone. Mecum also runs motorcycle-only sales and sells Road Art, its name for automobilia and signs.

Title and document feeNot published; shown on each event's How to Pay page

A worked example: a $40,000 car bought on site adds a $4,000 premium, so it costs $44,000 before tax, title and shipping. Bought online, the premium is $4,800, for $44,800. A $6,000 car still pays the $1,000 minimum.
