About Robert Edward Auctions (REA)

Robert Lifson founded the company, which has run sports auctions for more than 30 years. It now trades as REA under REA Group, LLC, based in Chester, New Jersey. It bought Huggins & Scott Auctions in 2023. REA has sold a 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth rookie card for $7.2 million and a T206 Honus Wagner for $6.6 million.

REA holds a few large catalog auctions a year, with smaller monthly sales between them. Bidding is online at bid.collectrea.com. Since 2025 the ending works lot by lot: initial bids are due by 9 p.m. Eastern on closing day, then qualified bidders get an hour of extended bidding before each lot closes on a 20-minute clock. A fixed-price marketplace opened in March 2025.
