About Heritage Auctions

Heritage started in Dallas in 1976 as a coin dealer and auctioneer and is still privately run by its co-chairmen, Steve Ivy and Jim Halperin. Its total sales passed $2.15 billion in 2025, its fifth record year in a row, across dozens of departments from rare currency to luxury handbags.

Some of the most talked-about sales of recent years happened there: Judy Garland's ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz for $32.5 million in 2024, a Nobel Peace Prize medal for $103.5 million in 2022 with the proceeds going to UNICEF, and a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card for $12.6 million. Heritage also keeps a free archive of past sale prices that collectors use to research values.
