Government sellers in Illinois list what they are done with on a schedule, so the mix changes week to week: a county fleet turnover one week, a school district clearing a warehouse the next.

Over the past year the UX Search sold archive recorded 618 closed cars & suvs sales in Illinois, with a middle hammer price of $8,625 and a range from $82 to $29,950. By city, Markham ran about $11,100 (65 sales), East Dundee ran about $10,400 (55 sales), Caseyville ran about $11,375 (47 sales). The buyer's premium, sales tax and pickup are on top of the hammer price, and each sale below links to the listing it came from.

Cars & SUVs at government auction in Illinois come from the same places they do everywhere: agencies replacing them on a schedule, departments closing or consolidating, and property seized or abandoned and sold by the county. The seller's name is on every listing, the photos show the condition, and most sales are pickup only at the location listed, so the distance to South Beloit is part of the price. Our count the fees tip applies here as much as anywhere: Most auctions add a buyer’s premium to the winning bid, and some add document or gate fees. Check each site’s terms before you bid.
