About Pook & Pook
Ronald and Debra Pook founded the house in 1984, and its saleroom is a stone inn from 1761 with a gallery attached, on East Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. In 2013 Pook & Pook was one of six auction houses that created the Bidsquare online bidding platform.
It holds more than a dozen auctions a year: Americana and international, decorative arts, sporting, coins, and toys, with early American furniture, folk art, fine art and Native American objects among its strengths.

How buying works at Pook & Pook
- RegisterIn person, bring a driver's license and a major credit card. Phone, absentee and internet bidding must be set up and confirmed before the sale.
- Choose how to bidBid with PookLive on its site or in the PookLive app for iPhone, iPad and Android, by telephone, with an absentee bid, or in person. Bidsquare and Invaluable also carry its sales.
- Add the costsThe buyer's premium is added to the hammer price. Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax applies unless the item ships out of state with a licensed shipper or you file an exemption.
- Pay within 7 daysCash, check, cashier's check, money order or wire. Cards are for established clients, with a 3.5% fee.
- Collect or shipPick up by appointment or arrange a shipper within 7 days. Storage of $5 per lot per day starts on day 11.
