About Artnet Auctions
Artnet, the art market information company founded in 1989, has run online-only auctions since 2008. Its sales are timed, usually about two weeks long, and every lot has a reserve. Galleries and dealers are the sellers; Artnet runs the platform.
The sales focus on post-war and contemporary art, prints and multiples, photographs and modern masters. Artnet was taken private in 2025 and, from April 2026, shares leadership with Artsy while keeping its own brand. It also runs the subscription Artnet Price Database of auction results.
