WineBid
WineBid has run online auctions of fine and rare wine since 1996. Lots range across red, white, sparkling, Champagne, dessert and rosé wines from California, Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhône, Italy, Germany, Spain and elsewhere, and new bottles are added every week. It also has a Hong Kong branch and imports some wines directly from Europe.
How buying works
- Weekly auctions: wine is on auction continuously, with a weekly auction that closes on Sunday evenings, Pacific time.
- Buy Now: some wines can be bought immediately at a fixed price without waiting for the close.
- Storage, shipping and pickup: these are handled by its partner Global Storage Network, and the site has a shipping calculator for estimating costs.
Good to know
- Bottles are inspected and stored by hand in temperature-controlled warehouses.
- Sellers do not need to consign full cases.
