How buying works
- Accounts: online bidders sign up in six steps: email, a confirmation link, phone and registration details, credit card information and acceptance of the Terms of Service. Bidders must be pre-approved, ideally before sale day.
- Ways to bid: sales are held live in person, and approved bidders can also bid in real time online through the Wheeler Live platform from a phone, tablet or computer.
- Sale information: real estate sale bills can include soil maps, plats, aerial images, FSA data and drone footage.
- Real estate purchases: winning buyers sign contracts and pay escrow deposits, which go to the closing agent.
- Financing: the site links to an outside service for pre-approval on farm machinery and equipment.
- Fees: the pages read do not state a buyer's premium or other buyer fees.
