Whatnot
Whatnot is a live shopping marketplace where independent sellers run live-streamed shows with auctions, Buy It Now items, flash sales, card breaks and giveaways. It lists more than 250 categories, including Pokémon and other cards, sports, comics, coins, designer toys, sneakers, fashion, jewelry and electronics. Sellers also keep shops for buying outside of shows.
How buying works
- Set up first: buyers add a payment method and shipping address before bidding.
- Live auctions: sellers set the start price and timer. In standard auctions each late bid adds a few seconds; sudden-death auctions add no time. Buyers can set a hidden maximum or pre-bid before a show.
- Bids are binding: the winner's default payment method is charged. A cancellation can be requested within 24 hours, and the seller decides.
- Costs: shipping is shown under the item before bidding, and shipping plus tax are added to a win. U.S. buyers are charged sales tax.
Good to know
- Buyer Protection covers items that never arrive, arrive damaged, or don't match the listing, with claim windows as short as 7 days for categories such as sports cards.
