Tiger Group
Tiger Group's Commercial & Industrial division sells surplus and liquidated business assets, including production and manufacturing equipment, audiovisual and broadcast gear, packaging and printing machinery, oilfield equipment, generators, and fleet trucks and trailers. Some sales come from bankruptcy cases. Tiger has offices in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Toronto.
How buying works
- Formats: timed online auctions and live webcast auctions, listed on Tiger's own bidding site. Some sales are also offered on platforms such as BidSpotter, Proxibid or AuctionTime.
- Registration: an account and registration for each sale. Recent sales placed a card pre-authorization hold that is not charged unless you buy; non-U.S. bidders send a wire deposit.
- Terms vary by sale: each sale sets its buyer's premium, which appears on the invoice. Recent sales required payment by wire transfer within about a day.
- Removal: by appointment and at the buyer's expense; Tiger does not ship. Items are sold as is, where is.
