Michigan Public Land Auction
Tax-Sale.info is an online land auction service for Michigan. It sells land parcels in scheduled auction events, with a separate catalog for each participating county; a single sale can cover several dozen counties across the state. Sale types include no-reserve auctions and minimum-bid re-offer auctions, and the site also lists surplus properties.
How buying works
- All auctions are conducted online. Creating an account is free, but bidders must log in to see full listing details and must verify their identity with details that match a government-issued ID.
- To bid, a bidder needs an active account and a $1,000 pre-authorization on a major credit card. It is a hold, not a charge, and is used only if a winner fails to pay.
- Bidding opens 30 days before the auction date. In minimum-bid auctions, bids cannot be lowered or deleted once the auction opens.
- Winning bidders receive an email with payment instructions and paperwork shortly after bidding closes.
