RestaurantEquipment.bid (TAGeX)
RestaurantEquipment.bid is the online auction site of TAGeX Brands, a liquidation company headquartered in Rochester, New York. It sells used, surplus and some new commercial kitchen and food-service equipment, such as cooking lines, refrigeration, prep equipment, smallwares and the occasional food truck, much of it from restaurant closings and facility sales. Auctions are held at closed locations and at TAGeX facilities, including Romulus, New York, Arlington, Texas, and Orlando, Florida.
How buying works
- Registration requires a credit card. Bids start at $1, and a bid in the final minute extends that item by three minutes.
- Buyer's premium: 15% on every purchase, plus applicable sales tax.
- Payment is due when the auction closes, by PayPal, Visa or MasterCard; unpaid invoices are charged to the card on file.
- Pickup: buyers remove items themselves by the posted pickup date, often by appointment. Items left behind are treated as abandoned with no refund.
- Shipping is not provided; buyers arrange their own freight. Palletizing for a fee is offered at some TAGeX facilities.
Good to know
- Items are sold as is, where is, and are not tested.
- Removing refrigeration equipment requires proper refrigerant evacuation.
