Stack's Bowers Galleries is a numismatic auctioneer and dealer that has handled rare U.S., world and ancient coins and paper money since 1933. How buying works

• Registering: online bidders create an account and agree to the terms of sale; floor bidders register in the lot-viewing room to get a paddle. New customers receive an automatic bid limit.
• Ways to bid: in person at live auctions, online or through the app with a live audio and video feed, by mailed or emailed bid sheet, or by telephone for lots worth at least $2,500.
• Buyer's premium: 22% of the hammer price, with a $29 minimum per lot. Precious Metal Auctions carry no premium.
• Payment: orders must be paid in full before they ship unless other arrangements are made.
