Repocast

Repocast, also known as Miedema's Repocast, is a Michigan online auction company that sells repossessed and surplus assets for individuals, financial institutions, businesses and government bodies. Weekly online auctions offer vehicles, boats, campers, ATVs, electronics and home goods, and monthly specialty sales cover construction equipment, semi-trucks and trailers, industrial machinery and restaurant equipment. Its corporate office is in Byron Center.

How buying works

• Registration and bidding: one account works across its auction sites. Bids go up one increment at a time, and a pre-bid can be set as a maximum before the sale opens.
• Inspection: items can be inspected in person at posted times; everything is sold as-is, where-is, and bids cannot be withdrawn.
• Fees: a buyer's premium, which varies by auction, is added to the winning bid, plus 6% Michigan sales tax unless exempt. Titled items are brokered by Repocast for a $125 fee plus state fees.
• Payment and pickup: invoices are due within 8 days, with a late fee of up to 20%. Items must be removed by the posted deadline.
