MaxSold
MaxSold is an online auction platform for estates, downsizing moves and business liquidations in the United States and Canada, operating since 2010. Auctions are local and built around pickup: household goods, furniture, collectibles, tools, jewelry, art and business assets. Some sales are run with MaxSold staff handling photos and pickup; others are run by the seller, with MaxSold handling the auction and payments.
How buying works
- Register before bidding: bidders must be 18 or older and add a valid credit card, which gets a $1 verification hold. Bids cannot be retracted, and late bids extend the close.
- Buyer's premium: 18% on the winning price, plus applicable taxes, charged to the card on file.
- Pickup: winners collect items at the published date, time and location, bringing their invoice, photo ID and the card used. Shipping is generally not offered unless the listing says so. A missed pickup forfeits the item.
- Moving items: MaxSold provides no tools, packing or help with loading.
Good to know
- Items are sold as is, where is; inspect them at pickup before leaving.
- Refund requests must be made within 60 hours after the pickup window ends, and a processing fee usually applies.
