LiveAuctioneers is a New York-based online marketplace, operating since 2002, where bidders take part in sales held by thousands of auction houses around the world. Its catalogs cover art, jewelry, Asian antiques, furniture, coins, fashion and other collectibles.
LiveAuctioneers is not the seller. Each catalog belongs to an auction house and carries that house's conditions of sale.
How buying works
- Bidders register before bidding and may be asked for identification by the auction house.
- Buyer's premium is set by each auction house and stated in its catalog; some houses add an extra charge for bidding online.
- Payment and shipping follow each auction house's terms.
- Apps for bidding are available for iPhone and Android.
