Hake's
Hake's, founded in 1967 by Ted Hake and based in York, Pennsylvania, describes itself as the first auction house to specialize in 20th-century popular culture. Its auctions cover presidential and political items, pin-back buttons, Americana, advertising, sports, entertainment, Disney, toys, comic books and comic art.
How buying works
- Accounts: one account works across auctions, so past bidders do not need to register again.
- Ways to bid: online in real time, or by phone on the published closing date. Bidders can enter a confidential maximum that Hake's uses only as needed to keep them in the lead.
- Increments: each new bid must beat the current high bid by 10% up to $99,999, with smaller percentage steps above that.
- Closing day: high bidders can request a call-back on the closing date and must be reachable all day at the number given.
- Shipping: orders ship in the order they are paid, and rush delivery carries an extra charge.
