Gooding Christie's
Gooding Christie's is an auction house for antique, classic, sports and racing cars. It holds live auctions at Pebble Beach and Amelia Island, at Rétromobile in Paris and New York, and in Geneva, and runs an online-only format called Geared Online, where lots close about every 30 seconds and a bid in a lot's final three minutes extends its closing time.
How buying works
- Registration: a bidder registration application, proof of identity (driver's license or passport, or corporate documents for companies) and a bank letter of guarantee or other proof of ability to pay. A representative confirms approval.
- Ways to bid: in person, by telephone, absentee or online; every auction is also live-streamed.
- Buyer's premium: added to the final bid; the details are set out in the conditions of sale.
- After the sale: invoices with payment instructions go out about one to two business days after the last lot sells.
- Transport: Gooding works with Intercity Lines for post-sale transport at each auction site and with Cosdel for overseas shipping.
