Dynadot Auctions
Dynadot Auctions is part of the aftermarket at the domain registrar Dynadot. Its expired domain auctions sell names that were not renewed by their owners and have passed their renewal grace period. Users can also list their own domains in user-to-user auctions or for sale in the Dynadot market.
How buying works
- Account: a free Dynadot account plus at least $5 of account spending in the past 365 days. New users can meet this with a prepay order.
- Bidding: auctions use proxy bidding. Bids of $2,000 or more need a deposit of 10% of the bid, held until you are outbid or pay.
- Extensions: a bid in the last 5 minutes extends the auction by 5 minutes, with no limit on extensions.
- Payment: winners have 48 hours to pay. A winner who does not pay forfeits the bid deposit.
Good to know
- Occasionally the original owner renews a won domain; the full order amount is then credited back to the buyer's account.
