Deanco Auctions

Deanco Auction sells farm equipment, construction machinery, trucks, trailers, forklifts, lifts, mowers and attachments at live auctions. It has offices in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and in Dothan and Headland, Alabama, where its auction site sits on U.S. Highway 431 north of Dothan. The company also runs separate industrial and auto auction sections.

How buying works

• Sales offer both onsite and live online bidding; online bidders sign up on Deanco's bidding site or bid through Equipmentfacts or Proxibid.
• Every bidder must register and get a bidder's card.
• At its Headland farm and construction sale, the buyer's premium was 10% of the first $5,000 and 3% of the rest of each item, with a 2.5% internet fee (capped at $1,000 per lot) and a 3% card fee.
• Purchases are paid on sale day by cash or cashier's check; personal or company checks need a bank letter of guarantee.
• Items are sold as is, where is, and Alabama sales tax applies unless the buyer has a resale exemption.
