Catawiki
Catawiki is an online auction marketplace for collectibles and special objects, founded in 2008 and based in Amsterdam. It offers more than 75,000 objects a week, including art, jewelry, watches, fashion, coins and stamps, comics, trading cards, wine and spirits, books and classic cars. More than 240 in-house specialists review submissions before they go to auction.
How buying works
- Bidding: auctions start at €1. Bidders can place a manual bid, a quick bid or a maximum bid; the highest bid at the close wins, and bids cannot be withdrawn.
- Buyer Protection fee: 9% of the final bid plus €3, added on top of the winning bid along with shipping.
- Shipping costs are set by each seller and can include customs fees when buyer and seller are in different countries.
- Payment is made through local payment methods and held until the object arrives; it is released to the seller up to 3 days after delivery.
Good to know
- If an object is not as described, Catawiki will help find a solution or issue a refund.
