BioSurplus buys, sells and auctions pre-owned laboratory and life-science equipment. Based in San Diego, it serves laboratories, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, universities, hospitals and research institutions, and manages auctions and liquidations during lab consolidations, relocations and closures. In August 2026 it announced it had resumed operations under new ownership and was rebuilding its online inventory.

How buying works

• Auctions: curated online auction events are held on a separate BioSurplus bidding site.
• Direct purchase: equipment is also sold through direct listings. Buyers looking for something specific can submit an equipment request with the model, quantity, timeline and budget.
• Selling: BioSurplus buys surplus equipment and takes consignments, from single items to full labs.
