BidSpotter
BidSpotter is an online bidding platform for sales run by many different auctioneers. Lots cover industrial and commercial equipment, metalworking, food and beverage, woodworking, lab and pharmaceutical, construction, farm, printing and mining equipment, vehicles, electronics, and some real estate. Sales are either live webcasts of room auctions, where remote bidders bid in real time, or timed online auctions where each lot closes at a set time.
How buying works
- Registration: a free BidSpotter account, then a separate registration for each auction. The auctioneer approves each bidder, which can take time.
- Deposits: some auctioneers require a deposit or a card on file; any deposit is listed on the sale details page.
- Buyer's premium: a percentage of the hammer price, shown on the lot page. Sales tax is usually added.
- Payment and collection: the auctioneer sends the invoice and payment options, and buyers arrange pickup or delivery with the auctioneer.
