Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands
The Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands sells tax-delinquent property that has been certified to the state. Parcels are first offered at public auctions held county by county, and the catalog is organized by county, sale date and time. Parcels that are offered but not sold become available 30 days later through the office's online post-auction sales site.
How buying works
- The minimum bid is the tax due on the parcel, calculated through the date of sale.
- At live auctions, buyers pay by personal or business check, credit or debit card, cashier's check or money order. Cash is not accepted.
- For online post-auction sales, buyers register on the auction site. The first $100 per parcel is charged to the registered card, and full payment is due within 10 days of the close. Card processing fees are not refundable.
- Title passes by limited warranty deed, and the office does not insure or warrant that the title is clear or marketable.
Good to know
- Former owners can claim excess sale proceeds one year after their property is sold.
